Maglocks

Maglocks (short for “electromagnetic locks”) are recognised for their impressive holding force. A mag lock leverages powerful electromagnetic attraction between armature plates mounted on your doors and electromagnets mounted on the door frame. When energised, these electromagnetic locks create bonds that can exceed 272 kilogrammes of pulling force on standard models (heavier-duty versions can handle up to 545 kilogrammes). That makes forced entry virtually impossible without cutting power.

A magnetic door lock is perfect for glass doors, aluminium storefront systems, and anywhere mortise locks are impractical. The fail-safe design of a maglock automatically releases locks during power failures or even fire alarms. That ensures compliance with life-safety regulations. Surface-mounted installation simplifies retrofitting without fussing about modifying the door. Some have LED status indicators to confirm energisation, while integrated bond sensors verify armature contact.

At Locks & Handles we offer a variety of magnetic lock products, but only from credible manufacturers. We have JIS’s Hold Open magnet (in floor- and wall-mounted options) to keep your doors ajar. If you need a more secure maglock for your door, you can pick Adams Rite’s or TSS’s double mag locks. Never fuss about picking the wrong mag lock. Our expert team is with you every step.
