From The Anvil Large Letter Plate
From The Anvil’s classic letterplates and covers are an attractive option for numerous door types. For more traditional doors, we offer a separate system in which the letterplate is fitted to the external face of the door, and a letterplate cover is fitted to the internal side to limit drafts. Combine with From The Anvil’s matching Aged Bronze door furniture to create a feature entrance. Maximum door thickness: 65mm. Supplied with matching 70mm threaded bolts with dome headed caps.
Aged Brass
A popular choice for Period homes and interiors; From The Anvil’s Aged Brass finish offers a characterful warmth and works beautifully, creating a real statement when used with deep, dark paint colours, and materials & textiles synonymous with luxury and abundance.
Manufactured from solid, unlacquered Brass, From The Anvil’s Aged Brass products undergo an accelerated ageing process before surface areas are repolished, creating a striking contrast between the darker patina left around the edges and recesses, and brighter surface areas. As an unlacquered, living finish Aged Brass will continue to oxidise, meaning it will darken over time. If the product becomes too dark or tarnished, it can be polished to restore the brighter finish on surface areas.
Aged Bronze

One of From The Anvil’s most popular finishes favFrom The Anvil’sed for its dark, matte richness with distinctive warm undertones unlike any other finish in From The Anvil’s range.
From The Anvil’s Aged Bronze products are made using solid bronze containing a minimum of 85% copper. The process used to age the metal is what gives it a dark, dramatic appearance, before a durable matt lacquer is applied during the final stages of manufacturing to help protect and preserve its distinctive tones.
Black
From The Anvil’s classic Black finish is the perfect choice for those looking to make a bold statement. This finish is best suited to traditional properties and interiors, and looks fantastic when paired with neutral colways and natural materials such as timber, stone and tile.
From The Anvil’s Black products have a distinctive, subtle sheen; hand forged from mild steel this finish are extremely low maintenance, offering excellent corrosion resistance and durability as a result of being powder coated, then baked in a high temperature oven during the final stages of manufacturing. An extremely low maintenance finish, ideal for use in kitchens and bathrooms, or externally where damp conditions are expected.
External Beeswax
From The Anvil’s External Beeswax finish aesthetically is the same as Beeswax; A traditional finish with a soft, natural look featuring subtle blue and deep red ochre tones which are preserved in the steel during the manufacturing process. This finish is ideally suited to older, traditional dwellings and cottage interiors.
From The Anvil’s External Beeswax products are hand forged from mild steel. After forging, the subtle colours in the metal are preserved by dipping the products in hot, anti-corrosive beeswax unique to From The Anvil. This results in a soft, matte richness and offers excellent protection when the products are fitted both internally and externally.
Pewter Patina
This charming finish is well suited to characterful homes and interiors, where a more refined, yet traditional look is desired. Pewter Patina products work beautifully when used with natural timbers and oak, but can also be modernised by pairing them with painted finishes in a variety of colours.
Hand forged from a durable base of steel, Pewter Patina finish is an excellent example of how From The Anvil’s unique manufacturing techniques add further detail to the natural charm of the base material. Pewter Patina products undergo an accelerated ageing process, creating a dark patina before being placed into barrelling machines, giving them the unique finish. During the final stages of manufacturing, a high quality, cleat matt lacquer is applied for protection. A low maintenance finish, ideal for use in kitchens and bathrooms, or externally where damp conditions are expected.
Polished Brass
Polished Brass is a simplistic, classic finish most synonymous with use in traditional period properties and interiors, yet works well paired with light colours and subtle textural details to achieve a luxurious, more modern aesthetic.
From The Anvil’s Polished Brass products are manufactured from solid, unlacquered brass. Bright and reflective when polished, although as an unlacquered, living finish it will continue to oxidise, meaning it will darken over time. If the product becomes too dark or tarnished, it can be polished to restore the brighter finish.

From The Anvil’s Polished Bronze is manufactured from solid bronze containing a minimum of 85% copper. The finish is first aged, then repolished to create subtle contrast between the lighter surface areas and darker patina which gathers around the edges and recesses. To preserve the bright, reflective finish a durable lacquer is applied during the final stages of manufacturing. Bronze will naturally darken over time, however the bright reflective finish can be restored by polishing with a beeswax based furniture polish if desired.

Polished Chrome is a high sheen finish that is best suited to modern interiors. its bright, reflective qualities work well where a clean, minimalistic look is desired; the cool tones complementing bold colours and contemporary styling.
Polished Chrome products are made from a base of solid brass, with a durable chrome plating applied to the surface resulting in an exceedingly high-sheen finish.
Polished Nickel
Polished Nickel is an excellent choice for those looking for a bright, reflective finish with warmth. This extremely versatile finish is best suited to contemporary interiors, but can also work well in more traditional settings due to its warm calming undertones.
From The Anvil’s Polished Nickel is a high quality chrome plating applied to solid brass. The subtle brassy undertones of this finish are a result of only one plating being applied, which offer a warmth that cannot be replicated with more modern, cooler chrome finishes.
Satin Chrome
Satin Chrome is a beautifully understated, more subtle alternative to some of our polished finishes; its cool, blue traces and less reflective appearance make it a favourable choice for modern homes and interiors, yet it also works well in period properties where a contemporary touch is desired.
Manufactured from a base of solid brass with a high quality chrome plating applied to its surface, our Satin Chrome products are brushed with a satin wheel during the final stages of manufacturing, giving them their distinctive, matt appearance, before a high quality matt lacquer is applied to the surface for protection.
