Lever Padlocks

A lever padlock may look like an ordinary padlock, but the security it provides is often more reliable than traditional versions. Lever padlocks don’t use pin tumblers. Instead, they feature internal lever mechanisms that require flat keys with distinct cuts to engage the levers. They’re like your lever mortise locks, which experts consider high security designs. The only difference is that the levers are in a padlock form, not a door lock. Lever mechanisms also tolerate dirt, grime, and weather exposure better than pin tumblers.

Like its mortise counterpart, a lever padlock’s strength and tamper resistance are directly proportional to its number of levers. Hence, a 5 lever padlock is more secure than a 3-lever system. Because they’re tougher to crack and more weather-resistant than conventional locks, lever padlocks are perfect for outdoor and industrial applications. You’ll see them in agricultural buildings, workshops, garages, gates, storage containers, and virtually anywhere harsh conditions might compromise standard pin tumbler locks.

At Locks & Handles our aim is to help you secure these properties and even spaces with our collection of Squire, Union, and Waisall lever padlocks.
