MIllenco Mantis 1 (117PZ) Lift Block Only

This is a Millenco Lift Block, which is a component from inside a Millenco Mantis 1 lock mechansim. The Mantis 1 mechanism is the version that includes the original tall central gearbox, easily identified by its unique 117/86 PZ locking centres. 

A common problem with these gearboxes involves this part, known as the “Lift Block”. It is a cast component that sits at the bottom of the gearbox, between the Euro cylinder aperture and the back of the case itself. Often, debris can become trapped between the cylinders cam and the Lift Block, and forcing the cylinder can crack this block. Also, it sits directly behind the hole for the cylinder retaining screw. If a retaining screw which is too long is used, it can over penetrate the cylinder and travel all the way up to the Lift Block. If the screw is further tightened against the Lift Block, this can also cause the block to crack.

Once broken, the symptoms will be difficulty in turning the key, and sometime a total blockage preventing use of the lock in either direction. It can be easily replaced by removing the side plate from the case and the broken component can be lifted out and these replacement genuine parts placed back inside.
